I am planning to make a very rich image based gallery of Bhutan but do not know exactly the full protection against any kinds of copying or download online. I am using HTML PROTECTOR which uses javascript to disable right mouse click, printscreen, print, offline viewing and internet cache of the users so that the images are not stored in their hard drive. But I realized then that there are some strong printscreen softwares which can still copy the images. Then there is also the option of disabling javascript on a user's browser. One option is adding visible watermarks but it will come at the cost of deteriorating the image views. Any idea how to protect the images with these challanges?

There is NO WAY to protect your images. If the browser can see them, I can copy them.

As stated above...there are too many ways to copy and image to keep it safe.

The best thing to do is put a watermark on it, so others won't wanna use it without doing some work first.

The ONLY way to guarantee that your images are safe from downloading or hotlinking is not to put them online!

As stated above, the best recourse is to add watermarks to the images. You can also not put large versions of the images online, most people will not bother with small 100 - 200 px wide images
