i saw in the forums before saying that you can get ftp.domain.com to work on ftp01
by setting up a canonical name (CNAME)
so i did like this
Alias: ftp
Hostname: ftp01.powweb.com.

but still nothing is it possible to get ftp.domain.com on the newer servers???

has anyone had any luck??

I don't recall exactly how often that part of the system resets but in general, when making major changes, some things are reset every half hour, others are every hour. I don't think; but, there may be one that is on a two-hour schedule.

Also, did you remember to include the trailing period?

ftp01.powweb.com.

That's how it should look.

oops, yes, you do have it with the trailing period but I'm leaving that phrase in here in case someone else browsing the forums stops by this post.

well i added it yesterday and been waiting.. but i keep getting connection refused.. its almost been 24hours.. so..

im just waiting still...

You may need to clear your computer's DNS cache. At a command prompt, type:

ipconfig /flushdns

grrrr, the chat timed out while I was waiting for a tech. I didn't bother leaving a message because I think Tbone may be onto something. I WAS able to get "something" when I tried to go to ftp://ftp.s2-illusions.com/

Of course, it won't let me log in or view anything because yes, I would be an annon user and no pw doesn't support that. But, this does rule out the idea that it didn't work at all because if it didn't exist, then I would've gotten an error other than the "no annon user allowed" error.

well that did it i was successfully able to login.. thanks

s2-illusions.com is hosted on quasar.. so i have no problems.. its a new website im working on that was giving me problems which is on ftp01
