Additional PowWeb Solution

Hey yall. I love PowWeb dont get me wrong, but they shut my site down without any notification, and I lost all my files. Til this day I have not received a notice on why it was removed.

So I went looking for a new host, and I dont wanna be one of those annoying "spammers" cuz thats not what I am doing. I am just gonna say that I signed up with [Mod Edit: Hosting Provider] and I havent had any problems. It was even setup instantly after I payed. Anyways it's worth a shot or at least a look.

This is only for people who dont feel PowWeb was as good as they originally thought....anyone else have any good solutions?

That host you linked to hardly has any bandwidth :(

Suck packages at that place -- No thanks I will stay here and get way more for less.

Are you sure Powweb did not put a note in member ops or your registered email about why you got shut off.

You must have been doing warez or something to get turned off.

Hey, the email I signed up with them I can no longer use this may be why. But I did email them with my new email and they havent replied...

Who knows maybe your payment bounced or something like that that caused your site to get removed.

Hey they used to be called Number 1 Web Solutions or something, theyve been around for a few years. I registered with them back when they were still with their old name...

Don't get me wrong - there are other fine webhosts out there. I personally feel PowWeb is the best in this niche.

lol to be honest i thought the old name just sucked...powweb is very good, just like i said i was mad when i lost my files :/

Well thats weird.
I don't know, sounds odd.

For the very few emails I have sent thru the member ops have been replied to pretty quickly.

But if I am a typical customer I have been more then happy with Powweb and the 5 Gigs a day is some rockin bandwidth.

I guess I am just lucky.

Understandable to be upset in that situation, though PowWeb won't delete a package's files until two weeks after expiration. The only circumstance I can see them deleting files is for a policy violation.

Either way, it's really not cool to advertise another webhost on this forum.

I find the whole thing rather fishy... first, we don't delete files for packages until a week after their deactivation, even then we have the files in snapshots of our fileservers for 7 more days... if you know anything about netapp snapshots, these files can not even be deleted by an admin.

We like customers, we like getting and keeping customers... if your package was deactivated... there was a reason.. we did not grow to the size we are today (We reached 50,000 customers yesterday!!!) by deactivating peoples packages for no reason and deleting their files.
