Say I had one product for sale. Only one. And I wanted to sell it online. I want to collect credit cards for payments. No need for a shopping cart because I only have one item. So I want to click a link from the items page take me to a form fill out name/email/credit card..ect. Then send me the information so I can send them the product. I also want to go with a big corporation to do this for me. Would I go to like verisign.com? How should I go about doing this? I've been suching all over. and i've found nothing. Any help is appricated. Thank you so much.

we tried paypal. it seemed unprofessional because it required the buyer to register.

I agree with Stevel. Sounds like 2CheckOut is what you need. I have used them for about two years for my few sales. Once you get it set up and going, it's all automatic. Some of the system is a little hard to figure out (they have fairly good tutorials and FAQ to help), but personal support is not that great; you are simply referred to the online help stuff. But, overall, I'm satisfied with them.

Paypal doesn't require you to register anymore. At the checkout process you have an option to save your information.

But when you pay with it (even though you may not realize it) it does sign you up for an account with them. Kinda sneaky, but true.

I'll note that 2checkout.com is more expensive than PayPal. But I understand the desire to want to avoid customers going through the PayPal process, though lots of users already use PayPal.

We're considering using PayPal for our CD that the band is going to release this summer. I'm glad this thread came up, because I'll check out the other mentioned here, too. However, I think it is a benefit for purchasers to get PayPal accounts, because they can be used for many different things online now. Very beneficial...awesome thread.
