I did a re-install of osCommerce. I have an error msg. Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: I set permissions at 644 and 744 but neither clears the warning. Can anyone offer some help.

Thanx

This is mentioned in the sticky "Installing osCommerce" thread, but see here (http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=199685#post199685) for the complete solution.

Thanx Steve for responding to my post. I did exactly what you suggested and I took another look at the sticky and I still have the warning appearing on the top of the page. I uploaded the file through ws_ftp and made sure the rename/name was .php. What can I do now?

Did you actually open the xreset.php page in a web browser? That's required to have it do its job. Are the paths in the PHP correct to find your configure.php files? You may have a different folder layout than the default.

Ah, I just realized that my suggested code for the second chmod line assumes a folder layout different from the default. I edited the post. Make sure that the path to your catalog/includes/configure.php is correct in xreset.php.
