Upgrade osCommerce

Just a few q's :)

1. How do I find out what osCommerce version I am currently using?

2. If I use the osCommerce installer in the ops control panel, which version of osCommerce does it install?

3. Is there an easy way to upgrade to a newer version of osCommerce? Or do I have to install a fresh copy and reconfigure it with my settings and catalog?

To check your version # go to: /catalog/admin/. It should say on the first page. As for what powweb installs, I don't know, but I never had much luck with it anyway. I'd suggest downlode the latest 1 from oscommerce.com, unzip it on your machine, and FTP it to your server.(Note: save it in a directory other than your orrigional coppy. ex cart, not catalog.) There, you can access it (like you would to install it). On the first or second step, it gives you the option of "install" or "update oscommerce". Select the latter, and follow the steps it gives you.
