Installing HD on same brand name MO BO

I replaced an Abit MO BO with another Abit MO BO. Although it is a different model #. Is it possible that the system will reconize the old HD from the old MO BO and Win XP OS?

Ahh good catch. I've never moved HDs with XP, only previous versions.
