I am looking for a shopping cart and wouldn't mind spending a couple hundred for the features I need, but $350+ is just out of my budget... So I am considering Oscommerce.

I am hoping someone here familiar with Oscommerce can let me know if it will work for my situation.

I am selling my line of products on one of my friends websites. Now neither of us want to appear to the site visitors as separate, nor do we want to force them to check out twice should they want some of her products and some of mine.

So we need a cart that will keep track of her products sold and her discounts or specials and her total charges separately from mine. The cart can use one method of processing the orders or two (checking out), it won't matter to us if it keeps good records because we can divide revenues later on.

(1) Can Oscommerce do something like what I am describing?

(2) And can it be set up with cookies so that our customers don't have to 'log into their profile' each time they want to buy something. I really don't like the extra step of making customers have a username and password. Maybe it works and isn’t as irritating as it sounds like it is - can anyone who has used this cart clue me in?

(3) Can the cart be set up to email customer data (general stuff) to me for my personal database?

Thank you!

Well, reports of products sold are easy, and you can use "manufacturers" to distinguish things.

There is an auto-login contribution - I have not used it.

All sorts of reports are available. Look at http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions to see what's there.
