I want to load Windows XP on a IBM model 2611 Laptop. Has any one had a similiar experience?

I believe your cpu is 266mhz and 2 sticks of 64 meg memory. My suggestion is DONT install XP on this computer. I think that the BARE minimum is 266 mhz and 64 meg memory. But honestly, thats just saying that your computer will boot (very slowly) into windows, allowing you to luck at your desktop. If you try to do anything, and i mean anything at all (i.e. move your mouse and click the start menu) your computer will have a heart attack and freeze, or shut down, or just take 30 minutes to get to where you wanna go.... Id recommend installing windows 98 or 2000 but not M.E nor xp home/pro.
