hELLO, The powweb FAQ is out of date it says,
for PHP it says:
PHP FAQs

"""Q. What's version of PHP is PowWeb running?
A. PowWeb is currently running PHP 4.2.1. PowWeb is using the CGI version, so you must make all of your PHP files executable and have the path to the PHP binary at the top of your page.

Q. What's is the path to the PHP binary?
A. #!/usr/local/bin/php

Q. Is the path to the PHP binary necessary?
A. This path is not necessary any more. Php file should work well with and without the php path. All web servers are running PHP in mod_phpcgiwrap.

Q. How should I upload PHP files? How do I make them executable?
A. All PHP files should be upload in ASCII mode (or Auto on some FTPs). Note that these files are uploaded in the default 644.

Q. How can I execute a CGI script on a PHP page?
A. To execute a CGI script on a PHP page, try this:

<? echo @join (@file ("http://www.yoursite.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi"),"") ?>

What version of Apache are you using?
Server version: Apache/1.3.28 (Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_ssl/2.8.15 OpenSSL/0.9.7a PHP-CGI/0.1b

What modules do you have compiled in with Apache?
The following modules are installed with our webserver's Apache:

Compiled-in modules:
http_core.c
mod_env.c
mod_define.c
mod_log_config.c
mod_mime.c
mod_negotiation.c
mod_include.c
mod_autoindex.c
mod_dir.c
mod_cgi.c
mod_asis.c
mod_actions.c
mod_speling.c
mod_userdir.c
mod_alias.c
mod_rewrite.c
mod_access.c
mod_auth.c
mod_auth_dbm.c
mod_auth_digest.c
mod_expires.c
mod_unique_id.c
mod_setenvif.c
mod_ssl.c
mod_frontpage.c
mod_dosevasive.c
suexec: enabled; valid wrapper /powweb/apache/bin/suexec """""

suExec is also patched to run php pages just like mod_php would, but as your username, not the web server user! """""""""""""""""""

BUT:
when you run phpinfo.php
thats right this is how you run phpinfo.php php info phpinfo
on asteroid server !!!!!!!
Man finding that was like pulling teeth

http://asteroid.powweb.com/phpinfo.php says
PHP Version 4.3.5

also it says in FAQ,""
What version of Apache are you using?
Server version: Apache/1.3.28 (Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2510 mod_ssl/2.8.15 OpenSSL/0.9.7a PHP-CGI/0.1b ""

Is this correct and how do you tell!

Made me look like a Jerk on another board!
Trust but check it out!

In the future I have a suggestion instead of posting what version of PHP why not just have the links to phpinfo for the servers then every revision will be update automatic you will not have to update the FAQ every revision!

Also is there a way to ping or link to the server to do the same thing about what it is running? as far as server software?

If there is then a link to that also?! That way in the future you just post the links on the FAQ and it will show the version!

Is anybody out there?

What do you mean by "Also is there a way to ping or link to the server to do the same thing about what it is running? as far as server software?"

Hello, as far as what version of Apache, what version of Free bsD, what plug ins or what ever they have going.

The phpinfo.php isn't out of date per se. It simply reports the current modules and versions installed. It may be that the older servers (constellation-named servers) aren't having their modules upgraded. One by one the older servers are being decommissioned.

I believe that Vistronic is saying that the FAQ is out of date, not the phpinfo ?

However, I'm not sure what FAQ that information came from, the FAQ HERE (http://www.powweb.com/faqs/?category=Additional%20Services&faq_id=77) states that the version of PHP is 4.3.6 not the 4.2.1 as quoted above.

I pulled that from the POWEB FAQ not the user FAQ maybe someone fixed it?

Any way how do I figure out what OS is running on the server what version of Apache and so on?
