Products Quantity?

Ok I set the "Products Quantity" for a test Product to 1 and I went through and bought it on a test run and it is still available to buy. So I went and bought it again but it is still available to buy. When I go to the admin part of my store it says Quantity: -1. How do I set it up so if I put 10 it will only sell 10? I guess what I need it to do it automatically set the product to out of stock when the Quantity I set runs out.

In the Admin panel, Configuration, Stock, I think you want to set Allow Checkout to false and check stock level to true.
