first off...are there cards out there that will take a regular monitor and let you view HD broadcasts? i read on some tech site that there are cards out there that give regular monitors HD capability, tho that doesnt make sense seeing as how its the monitor itself and the lines that makes it high def.

anyhow- im actually wanting an HD ready TV or monitor so i can get some programs from hdnet- dotn even care if its a 13 inch monitor, just interested in some of the shows that are impossible to get with the standard tv i have.

anyone know any really good prices on hd ready monitors/tv's of any size?

i was checking out e bay, and there is some stuff on there, but thats kinda risky, since half of the stuff says 'tested and it comes on' which might mean any number of things COULD be wrong with it and theyre not sharing that info.

also...anyone know much about hdtv in general? from what i have read, you cant record hd broadcasts with a regular analog vcr, and some of the stuff is encrypted and you cant play it back. is this true? if so, how on earth do you record tv shows and stuff if you have an hd service?

Television and monitors do not give the same video output. They don't even use the same range of colors. So I can't imagine the quality to be the same when viewing a movie on a monitor.

Hmm. Check this site:
