I got mad at MSN loading without me knowing it, no tray icon or anything... so I got rid of the old version that was loading in the background and now I've got a rundll error. I've tried to hunt down where its trying to load but can't find it:

RUNDLL
Error loading C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll
The specified module could not be found.

EVERY time I load windows I get the error and its getting on my nerves.

I had overlooked; but, hijack found it and through there, I was able to kill it. I've had 6.1 installed but the old version decided it wanted to run too - without telling me. I found out it was running only because someone messaged me and I didn't have the new version running. Gotta love M$

Pretty funny, I just fixed that same error today. I just deleted the startup entry from the registry though. Is hijack another type of spyware removal program?

Hijack This - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

YOU as the end user need to know what is what before deleting; but, it shows everything that is running and things that "could" be issues.

Not a bad little utility then I guess, I usually just delete it all and ask questions later! :)

don't do that with Hijack - it lists everything including MS required files... your questions you'll be asking later would include, "Why does Microsoft need.... *a number of the MS required things listed in there*"

I guess that's why I'm just down the road though - HELP! lol

I just went through the files that were running and then through the startup files and dll's and researched them one by one on Google. Guess that way is a bit faster. I've done it a few times though now and I've gotten used to knowing what files should...and should not be there. In all seriousness though, PM me if you want to get together and have me take a look at it. Two heads are better than one!

You can find a list of program/dll names, what they are for and if they are needed at Pacs-Portal (http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm). There is a downloadable zip file that you can use on your computer about half way down the page.
