What's the message "Blocking call cancelled" mean?
I'm getting into the server OK, but when FTP runs LIST, everything comes to a halt.

Front Page is publishing OK, but FTP is pissed at me!!!

Thanks

FIXED

Zone Alarm strikes again.

Even though I had enabled (in Zone Alarm) FTP to access the Internet, my Security Setting was set to Internet:High, apparently blocking a port that FTP needed. Changing the setting to Internet:Medium allows full function of FTP

Try setting the Local and Internet Settings to high and remove the checkmarks from Block local servers and Block Internet servers. This is how I have Zonealarm set up here and it works great.

That's the way I had it, and for some reason it blocked the LIST command.

I dug a little deeper and found that I had XP's Internet Connection Firewall also turned on. Switching it off allows the LIST command to run and keep ZoneA in High Security mode.

I suppose I don't need both firewalls running, so I guess I'll leave XP's off. Just strange that ZA would permit the operation when switched to Medium Security, ICF still running.

Thanks,
Gene

The reason for that is that you were running two firewalls, with the XP one actually not being the best solution. ZoneAlarm is a much better solution, the one in fact, that I've ever used and for free what can you lose.
