Hi,

I have just purchased a poweb account. It is mainly due to the fact that there is such a huge and helpfull community here that I decided to move hosts.
My domain is dmbh.org. Can't wait for my account to be up and running, though the domain is still pointed at my old host until things get set up.
Thanks to all the members here who have made this web community, and thus made my mind on which host I wanted.

Welcome to Powweb. You're right about the 'community' here, IMO one of the best things about this host.

/me has been here now in his second year and loves it.

oh wait, I'm not in IRC - my laptop is bein' stupid and not letting me connect.

Routine used to be try a host for the minimum time and then I would always change because I didn't like the service, support, etc. Then I found Powweb. I was always a sucker for, "If you buy x months, no setup fee." Well, I took the yearly option and regret not going to the two year option. There's no leavin' powweb as a hosting provider anytime soon.

Welcome aboard!

dmbh, welcome to the family. I've been here since November of 2001 and haven't regretted a minute of it (well, ok, the data center switch over last November... or was it a year ago last November? :D) Anyway... I've had 4 hosts in the last 4 years and PowWeb is the one I'm calling home!

I'll be around PowWeb until they call "Last Call", which certainly won't be anytime soon ;)

Sure, you'll see posts from folks "hot under the collar" about something, but just keep in mind, PowWeb has in excess of 45,000 users. I participate in the forums daily, and am only guessing, but I'd say that less than 1% have problems that they post about in the forums. That's a pretty darned good batting average. More importantly, most of the threads end something like, "Thanks, that's just what I needed.", or "Hey, that worked great, thanks."

You are also very correct about this forum. I have learned so much from so many by reading the forums regularly. They've become even personal. We've heard about baby's getting born, marriages (how's that working out Tbone?), and everything in between.

Sorry for droling on, but it's easy to jump on the forum and post about what a crummy job PowWeb does, but all to often too many forget to jump on the same forum and shout what a great job PowWeb does. I've seen folks that have been registered since 2000 and only have 6 posts to their credit. Something must be working for them :)

Well, enough of this and again, welcome to the family.

Whoops... They've been keeping the straps on the jacket pretty tight, ever since I said I was breaking out to go to Tbone's Bach-party  I've been tellin' them that the poor guy is married now, so they can back it off a notch on the straps thing ;)

Welcome to Powweb and the forum Adam, I'm sure you'll enjoy both :)

There's a few around here you have to be careful of, they will try to steal your women or drive you insane like poor ol' Symo (he was perfectly sane before coming here). :D
