i ve been working on my site for almost 2 weeks now its alomst done. I mean 95% done but you can see most of its features. Please visit. http://newtonez.com


NewTonez lets you download ringtones(polyphonic) images and java programs for your mobile devices for free. But in order to download user needs to participate in the website or user can upload his/her own files and download it through wap. Which eliminated the hassel of buying cables for mobile devices. Also user can share their uploaded files with other members

If you think i should add another feature to the site please let me know.

Very tech looking skin for your PHP Nuke website, but too gray for me. There is a missing image under "New Site has lauched". The site seems to take some time to load, a few seconds for cable modem but probably much longer for dialup users.

Will you be including a Links page? You can exchange links with related sites to increase traffic. Mobile users will enjoy this site.

I know you're going for a tech look, but it is very, very grey, with not much
else to spruce up the colour. My own site is white and black, and like everyone told me, you need more colour. And not just along the left side, which is what you have right now with the 'home' and 'discussion' icons.
Also, I found the scrolling text a little blurry and hard to read. Maybe if it scrolled a little slower or the font was a little bigger...
Are you sure you want the general public to be able to view all your detailed statistics?
Finally, don't overuse italics. There's lots of fonts out there that are standard windows fonts, you don't need to use italics for entire paragraphs.

First of all thank you for your opinion. :) Today was the first day of this site so there are alot of changes to be done. I was thinking about changing the theme but i couldnt any better so far. All the good ones are dark color and i want to keep the color a little light. There are a few bugs in the system yes i will use the web links but not right now i need to fix the menu a little too. That stats option was for my use later on i will make it invisible. I'll appriciate if there are any other related resources i could use for example other sites that would like to link exchange and stuff.

Some legalistic points and questions, others may also answer them....

Your site offers the following features:

Locker Space
Download from our database

Have a personal box in the Home
Select how many news you want in the Home
Customize the comments
Select different themes
Access to Points
Access to User's Custom Box
Read custom headlines

1..... If by 'locker space' you mean storage space, how are you restricting users from storing copyright material?
2...... Many tunes are copyright, even in the form of tunes for mobile phones, so how are you going to prevent your site hosting illegal material?
3..... Whats the difference between a 'personal box' and a 'locker space'?
4..... 'Select how many news you want in the Home' - should this not read 'Select how many news items you want in the Home' ?
5..... 'Access to Points' - do you mean the member gets points for uploading and sharing files and then can 'spend' these points on downloading?
6..... 'Read custom headlines' - by that I assume you mean selected News Headlines customised to the members country and interest. If this is the case, are you re-broadcasting copyright material from news services with or without their permission or providing your own international news service? :rolleyes:

I intend this to be helpful suggestions and comments and not 'nit-picking' - copyright is a difficult area and I sympathise with anyone trying to produce a site without infringing copyright. :confused:

First of all i am not violating... any copyright laws i have paid for all the material thats on my site and i ve permission to sell or distribute them.

2. Locker is a place which can be accessed from wap and users use that space to store files from our database so can download it using wap.
3. A personal box is a space for registered users to store links (bookmarks) or other information.
4. I am still not done with the modifications so get the point...
5. Users get points for surfing our website and participating in different areas ( polls, forum, banner clicks etc... )
6. Read news from other site using rss if you know what that is. if other sites dont want people to use their news they wont make this option.

I definitely like the new look. It's brighter and more welcoming. It looks good. As well, I like the php based design, it seems to work really well for this type of site. It should be nice and powerful for what you're doing.

That said, I do have a few more pointers to help things along. First, your index page could use a title. I suggest something along the line of your existed subheading: "The best place to download free stuff to your wap devices." Secondly, where you already have that text, which I like and all, it's underlined, and being the only underlined thing on that part of the page, it really looks like a clickable link. Thirdly, don't be afraid to use a little more colour. I like that your member login and vote buttons don't become active until someone has actually activated the script, but perhaps those buttons could have some colour?

You mentioned about doing link exchanges, I suggest finding other sites out there along the same lines as yours (maybe hit google et al) and the ones that you really like, just link to them and then send them an email saying you've linked to them, will they return the favour. A few good links can really help bring in traffic, both directly and via the search engines. That said, you have submitted the site to the big search engines, right? I know I get the bulk of my traffic from Google, Yahoo, and MSN search, with a few coming from Ask and Altavista.

Good luck on the site, I think you're off to a good start.

Thanks alot "Marko Peric" yes i seen alot of progress with the new look and i am using phpnuke with alot of modifications. I am still working on it. What i can say is i'll never be done with it i ve to keep moving things around time by time. About the interface i am trying to make it more better and i'll keep your suggestions in mind.

I have a couple of link exchanges with some topsites and an another site. Google and other search engines already crawling my site. As you can see more and more users are joing and its finally off to a very good start. Its going way better than what i expected. Thanks again for your review.
