I have domain X.com
My main e-mail is ME@X.com
I want to create POP accounts for other people for A@X.com, B@X.com and C@X.com.
The system lets me do that.
But all the mail comes thru my main account(ME@X.com).
e.g., if I send mail to A@X.com, it appears in my mail account(ME@X.com).
I expected the system to look for matches among all the other accounts, and use the main account only if all others are unmatched.
Is that not what happens?
I've read all the FAQs I can find (I wish all the answers were on the same page, not one click = new page = answer), but I don't find this bahvior described.

Does the *@X.com setting override that??

Am I missing something??

The way the emails are working for you is not normal.

The only emails that should go to ME@X.com if it is sent to anywhere@X.com except A@X.com, B@X.com and C@X.com

If you can give me your domain name, I can look into this for you.

I just tried it one more time and it still doesn't work the way I thought.
My domain is Culverson.com
I have a POP account for Sales@Culverson.com (which I intend to turn over to another person - I want them to set up their mailer to handle it).
I can log into Mail.PowWeeb.com and access the Sales mailbox fine, using the correct name and password.
But if I send mail to Sales@Culverson.com it goes to my main address, and the Sales mailbox stays empty.

I’m not quite sure what your doing wrong, but I just tried and sent email to sales@culverson.com, and was able to retrieve it using (web based email) your sales username (check your email manager for the correct username) and password.

I left the email in your sales inbox, so you can verify.

OK, your mail wnet into ths right inbox, as expected. I see it via webmail, and it's on a separate account now.

This must be another problem with my ISP.

My ISP and my previous hosting company are the same company.
Oddly enough, I'm the only one in the world who cannot see my site on POWWEB.
The ONLY hits I get on my previous hosts' log are when -I- dial in.
The POWWEB logs for my site show the normal amount of traffic.
In other words, My ISP is directing MY request for Culverson.com to my old site.
The DNS changes have taken effect everywhere in the world except my ISP.

I'll bet somthing similar is happening to my mail - the mail probably never gets to POWWEB - It's short-circuited by my ISP.

Oh, well , with the money I'm saving on POWWEB, maybe I'll get a cable modem and a new ISP !

--case closed.

Steve,

You can also circumvent this (if you know windows well enough) by using our name servers as the ones your machine uses.

Glad you got the rest figured out. :)
