I run a phpbb site
yet ive gotten this error twice in 2 days
it comes and goes is it something wrong on powwebs part?

I don't think it is the case. Try and re-install (upload) the files which are causing this error...maybe they go corrupt!

FYI .. I would remove the username from your post above (click on edit) since this might be a security problem.

it seems to be on/off my site www.thewyrd.com is working fine at the time of this posting

Our pHp forum just went down with the same error too!

Maybe we're on the same server? :confused:

Make sure you are not usind "localhost" and actually naming the mysql server name in your config files.

I believe that you get that error when the server has no more avaiable memory. In other words the server is out of gas at the time.

That error has started to show up more since PowWeb raised the max connections - so everyone would quit getting that error.

There will always be a weak link. They pegged the last one, now there is this one. On a shared service you just go down the line.

They let more users on by increasing the max connections, now sometimes there is no more "room at the inn" - out of memory.

If this happens a lot then Powweb will need to address this issue.

I do not think there is anything you can do about it.

Yeah, it started working again all by itself right after i posted it wasn't!

Isn't that the way things always go? ;)

That will always happen. The server being out of memory will not last long. A second to a few minutes of many people are banging on it. The question will be how often it happens. Not how long.
