Uhhmmmmm, Is their a way to reinstall the CD-Rom drive... At the moment, its not working...Here's a couple problemss I've bumped into while trying to fix it:

1. My brother was on my comp and he DL'd a virus. I just ran Nortons and it found the virus and deleted/cleared it...

2. I have a new printer and was trying to install in. I went to "Add new hardware" and nothing happen. When I came back to my comp.. The CD-Rom wasn't working...

When I click "My computer". In the field where it says "Devices with removable storage"... The CD-Rom drive isn't in that area anymore

Is their a way to get my cd-rom back working?

Have you turned off the power (unplug to be sure the system board is not in a wait state) for a few minutes (say 5 to be safe) to let CMOS drain (there is a capacitor that holds power to CMOS for a few minutes)? If you do that then you know you will get a complete reload of CMOS.

Yup quite often a good cold boot will solve many issues. Though when you contract a virus and then clean it you can sometimes have other issues. If the cold boot doesnt fix it then, if you have XP, you could always try "System Restore" to see if that fixes the problem.
