Ok I got a question....

I see everyone using (I think it's called) Ikonboard... Of course I am going to have message boards on my site but I thought (I was told) you could make your own using php/mysql... Is this not true? I'm sure that it would be a really complex project (writing all that) but can it be done? I would think it would be better that way cause you could have everything you wanted but nothing u didn't... Anyone know anything about this? I don't know if we are limited as far as how much information can go in a database table... or if restrictions like that would matter... But at same time, if we are able to do this then I don't understand why Powweb didn't since they are like "God" in website stuff... I dunno..... Any ideas?

Any input, ideas, or comments are much appreciated! I am very curious LOL

Really hard to do yourself.

Look at phpbb. I think that is the best free one. phpbb.com

It's very possible to do yourself. However, extremely difficult and time consuming. Quite rewarding in the end though. I have my own "tag" I can put at the bottom of the page, and not some other Developer's.
