Does my site look professional, or does it look amateur. Please elaborate, tell me what I can do to improve it, and what is good on it.
Thanks

Ok.
Am: You didn't include a link in your post. :-)
Am: The multi coloured text is a no no.
Am: Popups. Aaaaarrrrrgh
Am: Black/blue colour scheme.
Ok. Don't get mad at me. They are only my humble opinion. You do do good work and i enjoyed looking around.
Looks like you took Berek Halfhand's advice about the link, but there's something broken about it - it looks OK, but actually directs you to http://forum.powweb.com/<b>http://www.frequencyproductions.com</b>. I think you messed up your vB code... try putting the bold tags outside the url tag.
I agree with Halfhand's comments - multi-coloured text is a big no-no and you should only use popups if someone is paying you large amounts of money to do so. I also think that text on black backgrounds can be very "squinty" on some monitors (particular those where the colour alignment is a little off) and should generally be avoided, though given the nature of your business, I suppose a black background is a fairly inevitable choice :) When using a black background, you should steer clear of white and saturated primaries (ie. solid red, green or blue).
I did I like the entry page and I think that overall the website is well done. I voted professional, but if I was voting out of 10 (1 = amateur, 10 = pro) I would have given it a 7.

Thanks for your replies, I agree with all of them, but I have very little creative control over that site, but I'll keep them in mind for future sites I make.
Could you please tell me what you think of www.cambridgelions.tk, which is a site I have total creative control over.

OWWW- the Red!!!
i like it (except for the red block). A little less bevel and emboss could be advised, but it's a personal opinion.
I think the calenders on the right are cool. They're sort of retro eighties arcadey or something that really works for me.
yeah. it's nicish. Maybe it needs a clearer header though, and the bevel thing and headers coul dprobably be improved somehow. And the red square, and alternative could be nice!!!
Nice though (hope this ain't too harsh - suck it all in, forget it, then see what happens)

No middle ground ? huh????
well, I won't rate it.... but I will give you a few hints....
FRAMES....... ouch..... I know this is a touchy subject.... with a lot of people.....
take the time " very little".... to learn SSI..... it will allow you to do a lot..... and make the site easier to navigate..... and give it the "professional" look you're looking for.....
SCROLLING..... unless you give them a reason to scroll..... people don't...... Convey as much of the message as possible in the main window size..... then if someone finds that content interesting... they will scroll......
COLORS..... if you can't accent it.... contrast it.... this has always been a favorite.... of any designer ....but for reading white against black is the most brutal..... but sometimes it works.... I think it does with your site.....
Just my 2 cents worth.....

I agree with SBGlasby. Frames are a no-no...pain in the butt, don't display correctly with many browsers, get stuck in other peoples frames. If you have to, keep it to 2 frames/page.
Red is ouchy, pick a more 'dull' color for black background.
Otherwise...great designs and graphics.
