My thoughts when creating this site were; make it nice and simple yet stylish. The emphasis is on letting the jewellery do the talking, the site is merely the frame. Further more no java or flash etc has been used so the site should be viewable by all, which was a major factor taken into consideration during the design phase. Any comments are welcome, hope you enjoy the site.

I would go with a lighter color scheme. Black works for the jewelry backdrop, but I wouldn't have used that for the site itself.

The contents appear to the left and there is blank space on the right side of the screen. The design looks very tech and the fonts are funky. The color scheme is black, grey and white which will not compete with the jewelry, but... the design seems inappropriate for its target audience.

You may want to choose one color and use different hues of that color for the color scheme. Instead of shades of black/grey, try shades of purple for example. You can still use black for the backdrop of the jewelry images.

There isn't enough info for shoppers such as privacy, payment and refund policies. Oh, wait... I found "some" info at the Buy link. There isn't any copyright information at the bottom of each page. There aren't any related links to improve web visibility. There isn't a Home button, though the banner at the top happens to link to the index page.

For a site selling jewelry, it is funny that the word jewelry is spelled incorrectly. ;) Or is that how they spell it in Scotland? The site would do better to have some kind of shopping cart or form that will keep track of items that people wish to purchase. But at least the information is now available online.

Two quick replies excellent :)

1. First about the dark colour scheme, I have uploaded a showing how a lighter approach would look at http://www.annecrafted.com/inverted/inverted.jpg

2. Not sure about the content to the left and blank to the right. You mean the fact that the main table is left aligned? I guess I could make this centre aligned keeping it centred. You say the design seems inappropriate, and then continue to suggest changing the colours. Does that mean you think the general layout will not work and a complete new design is needed, or that with a different colour scheme it might work? I must mention here I have been playing around with a few colour variations, will have to travel down that road again.

The buy section is a little lacking I must agree, probably left it like that since I will be adding an e-commerce solution later. Hm, copyright information at the bottom of each page. Is this a requirement or just good practise?

Oh on the spelling of jewellery, jepp that’s the way it’s spelled over here, at least in the UK :)

Thanks for the excellent feedback, keep itcoming.

I think a different color scheme to start will be nice. The copyright info should be on every website, especially commercial websites.
