newbi question error log

where do i find my error log and how do i make sure it is turned on... also is there a good place to show me how to change chmod...

You need a logs directory (folder) at the same level as your htdocs and cgi-bin directories. Once you create the logs folder the server should start generating your access and error logs within 24-36 hours.

In the Powweb tutorials at http://help.powweb.com/ there is a Chmod calculator which might help you better understand Chmoding http://help.powweb.com/tutorials/ftp/chmod.php .

http://webftp.powweb.com or you can use any FTP program. You will find the last eight days worth there in the logs folder once they kick off. While you are there click near the file/folder name where it says eg: -r-x----- and you'll see Chmod options.

ok thank i will check those things out... i did see that i did not have a logs folder so i added it....

maybe then i can figure out why i cant access the admin.php cause right now i am clueless

ok that worked thanks next problem is...

i can get into admin.php for my main site... i have 2 other setups on subdirectories... when i try to access them i only get the main site...

how do i get it to see them... i added the .htaccess file but doesnt seem to make any difference....

help?????
