I would like to be able to make a page of thumb-nail images that use the same image but just in a larger size. I found a tutorial on how to do it with HTML but I know nothing about that. I am using Dreamweaver 4 to build my site. Would anybody here; A) know how to do that in dreamweaver or B) be able to break it down for a newbie so I could try to do it in HTML? I am not sure if I can just cut and paste the example in the tutorial and then change the image location and info to make it work or not. Below is the example from the tutorial.
<A HREF="paperboy.gif">
<IMG HEIGHT=50 WIDTH=50 SRC="paperboy.gif"></A>
Here is the link to the tutorial,
http://www.htmlgoodies.com/tutors/thmbnail.html
It is about half way down with the title "Offering One Image"
Any info would be greatly appreciated. This is the last big hurdle I need to clear before I can publish my site.
Thanks for the help, Pete
If your saying you have a lot of large pics and you want to make some thumbnail pages, each thumbnail leading to the larger original size pic, then dreamweaver 4 has a built in thumbnail extension that works great. (but you have to have fireworks also i believe) .........if you dont, you can download the demo for free and it will work. Just make sure to start that you have all of the large pics that you want to be turned into thumbnails in the same folder. Let me rephrase that, for every folder that has a bunch of large pics in it, dreamweaver will take that entire folder full of pics and make an entire page of thumbnails out of it...........the rest of the directions are pretty easy to understand. If this is what you want to do then I have some pages using this extension that you can see @

If you need any more help, I could walk you through it.......you can also go to my forum, maybe ill write a tutorial on some dreamweaver and fireworks stuff, I use them a lot.......froggy.

Froggy,
The page you linked to is exactly what I want. How do I access the command in DW4? Is it an extension? Do I need to install Fireworks before I'll see the option? I looked in DW and didn't see anything and at this time I do not have Fireworks but will get it if thats what it takes.
Thanks a ton, that is going to work perfectly! Pete

under "commands" there ia a "create web photo album" and when I try to access it requests Fireworks. I'll give that a try and see what happens.
Pete
thats the one I was talking about..........."create photo album"..............once you have fireworks, it will do everything automatically for you, extra nav pages, name everything, put it all into subfolders, link everything.......in a matter of seconds!...sorry I would have told you exactly where the command was in the tool bar but I guess it was getting a little late and I missed that part!............let me know how it goes............froggy.

I had the chance to play with it a little today. It looks like it's going to work just fine. I need to play with image size a little bit but so far so good.
Pete
try using Arles Image Web Page Creator .. if you want to create image galleries. I've lots of image galleries on my site.
its fast and easy :)

I just took a quick look at it. If I get the chance I will try it so I can compare. A little too busy to do it this week.
Thanks for the info,
Pete
