This is confusing me....is it still 5gb allowed per month for the 7.77 package but you only don't have to worry about per day usage or is it actually 5gb/day allowed, so essentially you get 150gb in a 30 day period?

5GB per day allowed. You do get 150GB in a 30-day period, but bandwidth doesn't carry over - meaning that you can't use 6GB one day and 4GB the next.

thanks...so what happens if you go over the 5gb day. What is the charge then?

At 4GB for the day you will receive an email warning. At 5GB your site is disabled. You'll receive an email that instructs you to click a link. Then at Midnight PST your site will be reenabled.

thanks for the quick replies tbonekkt!

One finally question...so if they close your site for the day if you go over the 5gb...lets just say for a whole week you're doing 5.5gb a day...will they close your acct for good for the reason that a "normal" site shouldn't be having that much traffic?

and then at midnight PST..3am EST...the bandwidth meter resets.

You're welcome!

That's a really hard question to answer since I'm not an employee. I would suggest asking support@powweb.com that question. That way you get the correct answer.

DOH...figured you were a support member since you answered so thoroughly :)

Ill give them a shout...thanks!

ok..talked to support...constant overage of 5gb a day = close your acct for good.

ok..talked to support...constant overage of 5gb a day = close your acct for good.and you'd never reach 5.5Gb in a day, it'd be stopped at 5.

Is the 5 GB/day a rolling limit over the previous 24 hours, or a midnight to midnight limit?

No. Midnight PST to Midnight PST.

so technically you can do 4.9GB transfer a day and be fine. Be nice if it was just 150GB/monthly...no day limit. :)

Be nice if it was just 150GB/monthly...no day limit. :)Lots of things would be nice, but just to keep things in perspective, if we compare to other services ($12/mo or less packages), 5GB/day would exhaust your V monthly bandwidth in 4 days, your W monthly bandwidth in 5 days, your X monthly bandwidth in 6 days, your Y monthly bandwidth in 9 days, and your Z monthly bandwidth in 15 days.

Doesn't seem quite so restrictive in that light!

(Of course, those other places also offer higher bandwidth for more money; PW does not.)

wow...one of those guys gives you 75gb a month with 2500mb space...the guy said he can waive the gb/per day and just make it a 75gb/month server plus add a free month

I guess that depends on your needs ... big pages but fewer hits, or bit hits with smaller pages, purely a "personal" web page or a small business page. All of those packages above are advertized as "personal" pages. For example, with Z, you're up to ~$15 a month if you want SSL. or a shopping cart.

PS: I figured it was unfair to PW to be directly naming their competition on their support board, so I've changed the names to letters.

Yeah...i changed my thread too when I named the site...didnt think that was right.

I'm just using the page to host pics and some files...so it would be perfectly fine for me.
