A question for those who know...is the new affiliate program ( see http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?p=237581#post237581 ) a replacement for or an addition to the old referral program ( http://powweb.com/affiliates/referral.html )?

Hi Philatelius,

Just to clarify, these are 2 different programs. One is our "affiliate program" and the other is our "referral program". You can earn money through our affiliate program. While our referral program earns you credits towards your web hosting account with us.

In reply to:Is the new affiliate program going to replace the existing referral program? As I help others from time to time, I'm often asked if there is any way they I can be repaid for what I've helped with. Since most times the code or whatever I did is small, it isn't worth charging; instead, I simply mention the referral. If there's going to have to be a long funky url they have to use instead then I would rather continue as I've been doing - to where they only need my domain. If; however, there's something that can get me more, I'll gladly partake.

I received:
The affiliate program will not replace our refferal program. For the time
being, the tracking url for our affiliate program has to be that long. This
is the only way we can track it.Oliver S.

what happens if we want to 'cash out' before we reach $200? Is there anyway that could be applied as credit for your powweb account instead?

I think the answer is no.

Hi badtz,

No, you would have to hit the $200 balance before you can cash out. Our affiliate program is design for people with webmaster related sites, sites that generate a lot of traffic which will hit our minimum payout easily. I recommend you go with our referral program (http://powweb.com/referral/). The payout is not nearly as much however, there is no minimum and you can apply the credits towards your web hosting account and you can refer yourself (which you can not do with our affiliate program)

Just as a suggestion, I would work harder to help promote PowWeb on my sites if I could make more money. The $15 is nice, but not enough for me to put enough work in it. The affiliate program sounds great, but not sure if i could make it to $200 so probable won't even try.

So a suggestion I would make is make this into 1 system, and have it work something like this:

If you get someone to sign up, you get either $15 cash or $25 credit for PowWeb.... or make it a sliding scale for how long of a package was purchased. Also let someone cash out after lets say $100, or do something like a $3 fee if you want to cash out early. (to cover cost of time, check, etc...)

Another idea would to make things long-term. That is lets say someone I recomended powweb renews after a year for another year, I get anouther $5 credit added to my account. (or maybe 1 more month added to package) That way not only are we rewarded for finding new clients, we are rewarded for finding new clients who stay for a long time.

Just a few ideas.

Thanks Andrew, that's all I wanted to know.

$65? That is more than the cost of a quarterly package ($43.31) already. What can keep someone from earning money by going to different computers and use the same affiliate account to order many quarterly packages (and just set it to non-renewal)?
