If I have frames in my webpage where do I put the keywords and phrases. in the top-bar, nav-bar,index.html, or main.htm.

I assume you mean your meta tags for search engines?

I believe you want to put them into your main frames page. This would most likely be the index.html. Anyone correct me if I am worng.

All of the above, is my answer. For each page is an opportunity, just mind the duplicate entries. Also metatags are not the be all end all solution they are cracted up to be in and of them self. Search engine submital is a good addition for getting hits, and then keeping it updated is important too, for the main search engines. Also as far as ranking goes, the more folks that link to your site the better, these need constantly to be updated, so get to know other webmasters that have similar sites and exchange links...

As each page is an opportunity a good standard html hyperlink to your main index page counts as a link to your site (at least at google it seems to) you can leverage that to your advantage.

a final note, use each page as a unique opportunity to customise the tags for that spacific page, but know with frames folks are going to find the individual page without the resource of your other framed pages unless you intoduce a javascript or something similar to redirect the page loading into into your frame index. Drawback, your frame index is hard coded and the visitor will have to search for the page they were interesed in...
