Website Hacked!!

So my site was hacked sometime yesterday afternoon. Whomever did so deleted my main index.php file and also the index file in my forum/message board. Along with one other file.

They replaced it with a very disturbing and graphic image. Apalling to look at.

Luckily, I had just backed everything up, so I was able to fix my site.

However I know NOTHING about hackers or hacking. And need to what I can do to prevent this from happening again? If anything? What can PowWeb do to help prevent this. It seemed rather easy for them to do?

There's tips on finding the ip on who hacked you and where they got in.

Typically these people get in by a security hole in an application you were using.

Always keep updated on the applications you were using.
