This is to the people at Powweb...

Will the named servers (like Meteor) be load balanced anytime soon?

I don't know a time frame, but the legacy servers will be load balanced.

Start identifying problematic includes :)

Tom, I have some packages on the legacy servers. Can we actually use the localhost immediately or it is still not functional?

I would estimate within the next few months everything will be load balanced...including our nameservers.

Thanks, I just didn't want to miss out on the goodies!

Tom, I have some packages on the legacy servers. Can we actually use the localhost immediately or it is still not functional?Yes you can as long as you have a 'localhost' -- '127.0.0.1' A Record entry on the DNS tab in OPS. I believe this was a global change, so every package/domain should already have it. My two legacy packages (io and meteor) do.

The preliminary work is underway to implement load balancing on the legacy servers. As soon as we're satisfied everything is properly in place they will become a separate load balanced cluster, and speed and outage issues should be greatly reduced or eliminated.

Keeping my fingers crossed - all my sites are on the legacy servers.

There is no need to keep your fingers crossed. I already passed the potential drama but nothing special actually happened. I have a problem with a small feature in a website but I solved that as well. :)

Date is 26th November 00:33am GMT +1 time zone and lunar is down again.

Guys, this has been going on for a couple of days now. I am receiving complaints from my sponsors! What should I tell them? One in particular found my site down 3 times during these 2 days?!

Solve the problem please...my site, (and many others) are business sites...can't afford these constant outages...or we'll ruin our reputation. I am trying to find new sponsors/clients but you (powweb) are just making it harder for me. I have competitors guys!

Yes -- Murphy's Laws would tend to support that notion :)
