As always, my other friends on different powweb servers are fine. I am on a cursed server.

Nothing new about that...it happens everyday now.
My FTP is down too.
I hope someone is in the office today or I anticipate lengthy downtime....and on a holiday when my customers are actually HOME.

Maybe we could ask powweb to bring in a Voodoo priestess and run a couple counter jinxs around the servers, you know, maybe have the loa bless them too :D
Maybe an Old priest and a Young prest run through the exorcism rights right there in the room with all the servers.. Get all the demons out now
just a little humor..

MARS is down too! Getting real tired of this...............
MARS is down too! Getting real tired of this
Mars is gone, it was absorbed into Magnatar a couple of weeks ago.

I love this, you merge Mars onto Magnatar (why why why why?) and Magnatar, which was previously one of the better servers Powweb had, turns into a lumbering joke that goes down several times a day.
Why was this allowed to happen and what are you going to do to stop this daily downtime fun? Every minute our site is down is lost revenue and lost oppertunities and we can't be having with that, if it continues then we'll just have to move hosts because it's unaccectable.
I want an answer and I need a solution, what can Powweb do and how long is it going to take?
Thank you.

yep...every time they move my site to another server I end up with problems. Either db connectivity, missing files, or directories of file permission changes. This gets old REAL fast!

While my site is a hobby site and not subject to losing $$ when it's down, I do have to wholeheartedly agree with the above post. This is getting absolutely ridiculous. I can imagine that commercial site owners must be going gaga at this point. This is indeed a several times daily issue. Additionally, about 50% of the time it IS up, it's incredibly sluggish. I have tested this from different computers on broadband connections in different locations.
Per recommendations, I went to the voice chat the other day and voiced my displeasure. I was told that a lot of Magnatar's issues were the result of Denial of Service attacks.
I have had good service overall from Powweb, but I will consider relocating when my current contract expires if something is not done about this. This is NOT "The Perfect Hosting Solution" right now....by a longshot!

Sorry, I am just so use to saying "Mars is down LOL!
Powweb has it planned to move all of the legacy servers to their own load balanced cluster. Once this is done and all of the change over bumps are ironed out, things should get much better for all of the legacy server users.
I too get frustrated when my piddly little site goes down, but I also know that Powweb is working to get things taken care of so that everyone will be happier.

I dare to ask: any clues on WHEN this may happen?
Since I've been emailing sales in order to get some movements in a smooth way, this issue quite affects me: instead of getting one new pack and letting the "old" (in magnatar) die, switching primary domains in both and all that jazz, I might as well wait a bit.

Hi Everyone,
It seems as if no one is working on this problem. At least support could post a update as to when our sites will be back up. This is a holiday that many people will be purchasing and playing online. With commercial sites down we lose alot of revenue to say the least.
They are working on it, as per THIS ANNOUNCEMENT (http://forum.powweb.com/showthread.php?t=43651)

They are indeed, according to their post in Outages/Serviceproblems. Let's just wait a bit.

I couldn't agree with you more. In addition, I'm tired of getting emails from angry members/customers. Unfortunately, it appears that running a business on the web may be best operated via a dedicated server. Powweb is inexpensive, offers a lot...and for the most part been reliable over a 3 year span...but you get what you pay.

More importantly, the site http://www.worstguys.com has been down for a god length of time three days in a row.... whats the deal
PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM, or at least rather than saying we are working on it, let us know what the acctuall problem is, i mean we deserve that much/

My site is now back up, but Frontpage extentions are not working now. Please correct this problem asap. Thank you!
Allan,
I do hope that you've either emailed support or gone to the support chat line? Posting in the forum does not guarantee that a support person will see your post.

I'd like to know if you. Magnatar guys, have the webstats working for today, because seems like the process did not run, and hence they apper updated just as of yesterday, without reading the full yesterday's log.... (?)
Both of my magnatar sites had their logs rolled over and my install of Awstats ran on time as they should.
