I purchased 3 months, domain registration, etc. last night. I've already received a receipt saying my credit card has been charged. Is it possible to get a refund and have my account cancelled? I am disappointed with the service and do not think it is all it advertises it is.

Yes you can. Login to OPS (http://ops.powweb.com) and cancel your package. The refund will not be instant. They are issued once a week. If the domain name has been registered your refund will be less the domain name.
I'm kind of confused though. I'm lost that you not satified with the service when you have not even used the service?

They say it's 30 day money back..
this is what i found about cancelling an account.. but being the holiday in the US i'm not sure if anyone is there. Your best bet would be to mail Billing Department: billing@powweb.com to comfirm this is the proper procedure. I don't know if it is for the first 30 days? or if it's in general. They could tell you, and maybe someone else could confirm it.
without trying to comeacross as being nosey, can I ask what exactly you are disapointed with reguarding the service? you said you purchased it last night, has it even had time to do anything as of yet?
When does my "first 30 days" start? (http://www.powweb.com/faqs/?category=Billing%20and%20Accounting&faq_id=241)
Your "first 30 days" starts as soon as your hosting package is activated.
This is true whether your domain is delegated to our servers or not.
How do I cancel my account? (http://www.powweb.com/faqs/?category=Billing%20and%20Accounting&faq_id=282)
1) Login to http://ops.powweb.com
2) Click the ‘Packages’ tab
3) Click the link in the center of the page that says: "Fill out the cancellation request form."

In your first 30 days you get a full refund (minus domain registration fees, and the domain is yours), thereafter, it's a pro-rated refund and you still keep the domain.

If the package was recently ordered (which is the case) then the domain chosen can't have propogated around the web so NO-ONE can see the said package yet. This is very normal for all hosts not just Powweb as it is a feature of the Internet system not of Powweb.
It would be helpful to know why the package is being cancelled. Which particular bit of the service is it that is unsatisfactory? Or is it a case of a better price offering elsewhere? (Difficult to believe but possible :D )

since someone finally mentioned propagation as being an issue... I'll elaborate.
Propagation is the delay between when you make any type of DNS change and when the change is visible. If you just registered a domain, made changes to the nameserver settings, or have changed something else like your MX record, propagation can take 24-72hrs to complete. The delay IS NOT an issue with powweb but rather your local ISP. It takes time for your ISP (and others around the world) to retrieve an updated DNS list.
