View Full Version : Images not showing up. Tried everything.
I have tried everthing to get my images to show up. I have Chmod all image files to 755, uploaded in Binary via FileZilla, nothing seems to work. My images are all .jpg and .gif, I don't see what the problem is. Only 2 of all my images work.
I keep getting the 403: Forbidden by web configuration.
I read another post about .htaccess and anti-leeching. Could this be the problem? And if so, how can I check my .htaccess file? I thought that I did select anti-leech, but I am not sure. If this is the problem how can I change this file?
Any ideas?
Clubman,

Here is my correct address: http://www.buildgolfclubs.com/ Look on the sales page, there is an image missing, and I have not loaded the other images yet (because they do not show)
Here are 3, of about 12 images, that do not show:
http://buildgolfclubs.com/images/b100bo1.gif
http://buildgolfclubs.com/images/b100bo4.gif
http://buildgolfclubs.com/images/b100eb4.gif
and so on and so forth!
That's strange I can load the page right away. And I am connected with a 53 connection. I am getting hit to my website right now according to my stats. And the visitors are checking multiple pages.
The banner logo at the top of your opening page doesn't show for me. And when I try to access it directly I get:
Sorry, www.buildgolfclubs.com/images/bannerlogo.gif is unavailable.

Are you running an anti-leech .htaccess directive?
Kevin
I have no idea. I do have a .htaccess file loaded in my htdocs. I don't know how to tell if it is anti-leech. Any suggestions for finding this out?

I have no idea. I do have a .htaccess file loaded in my htdocs. I don't know how to tell if it is anti-leech. Any suggestions for finding this out?FTP in and rename .htaccess to .htaccess_old
See if your if your site clears up ... if not change the name back.
If it does clear up download the file .htaccess and find out what's wrong with it.
I changed the .htaccess to .htaccess_old like your recommended, and all of my pictures show now!
Do I need that file? (I am starting a top 100 list with alot of php) If so, do you have any suggestions, as to what needs to be changed in the file?
I am very new to .htaccess. I do know how to open with a notepad, but other than that I am clueless. I can find the information on the web, just need to know what I need to change.
Start by posting the contents of your .htaccess, then explain what it is you were trying to accompish with it. You only need it if you need the function you put in it. Some people use .htaccess to prevent "hot-linking" of images, where they embed your image on their web page. Unfortunately, the methods for doing this tend to cause more harm than good, as there is no foolproof way of ensuring that the image is being referenced the way you want it.
I think I was playing with this file. And I selected anti-leech not knowing what it was for. I do not even need this file! Thanks everyone for your help, this cleared up my problem!

Hello,
I'm having the same problem (missing images) but I did the things suggested and it didn't make a differece. There are missing sparatically, the same ones on all the pages, but they have the right rights/directory.
