View Full Version : cache problem??
I was reading about the down time Powweb had today and although they says its up and running again, my site still is down for me. Now I heard it could be a cache problem so I'm wondering if anyone can see my site www.wheelingap.com
Wouldn't you know it, the only day in weeks I need to work on my site and today is the day  Thanks!

Yes I can see it and most others will be able to also. If you go here and enter your domain name you will be able to also see it is up.

"We offer low altitude aerial photos to fit your budget. We are located in Wheeling,
Illinois and operate year round. We present picture quality you might find from full size aircraft but at a fraction of the operating costs, which saves you money. take a look in the photo gallery at some shots I have taken."
Thanks Alphadesk :) I can't see it without anonymizer.com so I think my problem is my ISP. I guess I'll try again in the morning.
I can see it as well:

KyleAs I can see it as well, over the atlantic, it's a good bet it's a local or ISP problem.

No, I cannot acces your site....
I can not access your site. Are you using Comcast and are you from the South? I spoke with Comcast and they can pull my site up from the NE on the Comcast network. I was told by them that either Powweb is still having DNS issues or have blocked Comcast from certain areas and to contact them
It would be interesting to see the results from a test if you're having problems - start a command prompt and type:
tracert 66.152.98.202
What do you get?

Please let me know.
Thanks.

To force your PC to reload website you can use Control + F5
Alternatively you can type anythingyouwant.domain.com e.g. ffffff.domain.com and see if that works.

Tried both techniques multiple times. No joy.

I am having same problem as you tracert ping out as well and page will not load
Thanks for the tracert output - it supports my theory as to the problem. Anyone else with a failure - please post your tracert output.
So what's your theory, and if you're right, what will it take?

SteveInterestingly, as soon as my tracert hits the verio.net network the timings shoot up to over 100ms and in one node to over 200ms.
My theory is that, as part of the DDOS-fighting PowWeb did yesterday, they told their network firewall to block access from certain IP ranges, and that these blocks are still active. Nothing else I can think of would explain the behavior we are seeing here - so far, everyone whose tracert output I have seen drops off at the same place, the last hop before cluster02.powweb.com.

Mine just came live. Not sure who fixed what, but it's nice to have my network back. I was planning on some loading and testing today, now I can proceed.
Steve
Not sure, but my site works now :) Thanks everyone.
Stan: freebyrd.org works fine and fast for me :)
I am using comast but I'm in the mid-west (northern suberbs of Chicago). It wasn't working for me this morning but is now so I am happy.

Your site came up slowly the first time I tried. Of course, when I closed the window and tried again, it loaded faster as it was already in my cache. It wasn't too slow, but I have a cable modem. It could have been faster.
When clicking the links and photos, it actually loaded faster. Hmm. I wonder if more people were visiting when I first entered your site.
