Permission for image use

For the site i am creating, i will need images of different digital cameras and other electronics. Where do i get the pictures of these electronics without breaking copyright law? I know i am allowed to link to a certain site, but i dont think i am allowed to display images of another site. I appreciate your help.

stock photograpy is a great resource for this sort of stuff but most will cost you a subscription fee, generally not very much. There is a little you can find for free but usually not to the scale and quality of the sites that will charge you.

i am afraid i dont know a whole lof of sites that are very good you can try http://istockphoto.com/ and a google search wouldnt hurt. If you use stock photography you shouldnt have any copywrite issues.

Are you using images of cameras to compare camera features and/or to sell them? Amazon affiliates save and use images that appear on the Amazon website. If you are selling Sony cameras directly from Sony, they will supply the images for you. If you are selling used equipment, you can probably take your own images or link to a web site that has the image and info.

I am not sure what you are doing, so I am not sure how to answer your question.

if you're selling digital cameras or reviewing them, you could use the pics provided by the company who made them... not pics used by other websites

I will just be reviewing products, but when i went to the canon website to check their Terms of use it said "This Site is only for your personal use. You may not distribute, exchange, modify, sell, or transmit anything you copy from this Site, including but not limited to any text, images, audio or video, for any business, commercial or public purpose." so im not sure if i can use the images from the company. But thanks everyone for the stock photography sites... :)

You could request permission and explain your reasons for use. If they don't allow you to use the images, maybe you can link to their websites for each.

i have found http://sxc.hu/ to be an excellent site, not for pictures of specific model cameras but for neat stuff to decorate the site with..thanks
