Is this new page too boring: http://www.eslgo.com/classes/advanced/1-advanced.html

It should replace: www.eslgo.com/classes/advanced/

I know the new one looks better, but I kind of miss the table - maybe I should give each paragraph a border on the new one?

First page you show has good color combo, but the second has better layout. I would stay away from really thick borders on tables stick to 1 or 2 pixels at most.

Aso the dotted line table on the first is nice but your content needs to be margined a bit. The text is a bit too large on both pages and I'm looking at it from a resolution of 1024x768. Content text maybe use arial or verdana no bigger then 11 or 12 point and menus at 14 at most. Hope this helps. ;)

I appreciate what you say about margins - I do need some. And I like the table layout in the old version but it does not work at all in smaller browser windows with the new version...

I'm trying to figure out some sort of compromise.

I like the new page better, especially the reduction in the size of the no-doubt-necessary-evil Gooooogle ads. The improved graphic also makes your domain name more understandable. I suggest you keep the modified page. I like it.

Thanks! It's good to hear because I am certainly going with the new style. I just have to find some sort of table layout for the content in the middle. Anyone know a page with a bunch of cool looking tables that are controlled by css?

James, I like the old one better, but the new one is fine too. I would suggest that you check for typos. Near the bottom you have Adavnced writing

I do have to look for typos... Can I ask what you like better about the old one?

The new is is certainly an improvement over the old one, but it is a bit chaotic. The dotted line continues on the left, but stops much earlier on the right. In my humble opinion the left part could do with some background color (a mild one, not a flashy one) to make it stick out from the main part of the page. If you do that this dotted line probably can go into the dust bin linea recta :-)

I think the design was simpler and the google ads were not so brilliant dark blue. The ads on the new page distract from your content. I can't scroll down the page without having to read each google ad.

A background color is an interesting idea. I don't know why, but I love dotted lines...

As for the ads being too bright and hard to ignore - that is kind of the point. I realize that distracting students when they are trying to study isn't what teachers want to do in the classroom, but making the ads more visible is better than making the whole site exclusive by charging for it and realistically I'm not going to keep developing the site unless it starts paying for at least some of the time I'm putting in.
