New layout, opinions please...

For those of you who remember the old layout will notice a huge difference, but I guess overall it's nothing special, I'm aware that the white text on the blue background is a little eye-soaring, but could you all please give me your personal opinions?

I like the layout. It's kinda traditional, non-risky, but it is balanced well, and makes visual sense...

The blue cell bg color does make me squint just a little, though, but you've already remarked about that...

I think I would have made my center content area into a frame, though, that way not everything has to be redrawn when a new page is visited. This doesn't take anything away from the page, though... just my own preference. The site loaded really quick for me (using cable modem)...

According to the Poll, 75% think the new layout is Excellent! That was my vote, too, because I couldn't really find anything to pick it apart with. Solid job!

I'd really like to keep the blue on the page, can anyone suggest a colour for the text that may be a little easier on the eyes? The blue I'm using is #0000BB.

I'm not sure that any font color would be better than white for a blue background. Possibly a light grey-ish white? It would certainly be a little less contrasty against the blue, but it might also end up making the blue even more stark... Not sure the readability would be helped.

Unfortunately, your best bet as far as concerns about the readability would be to change the blue to a softer shade. Perhaps the same hue, but with a little more grey in it to soften it somewhat. [sorry for the color/hue references, if they are incorrect... it's been a long time since i thought about the distinctions!]

As an aside, there are several good blue shades in the header graphic that would make a wonderful background color for white text... Just an idea.

I think its a beautiful design layout.I think it relates to the target audience.It loads pretty quickly.And personally,Coming from a fellow chi-town DJ (DJ'Fingaz) I liked to blue background within your text,It goes hand-h-hand.Its and excellent job in my opinion :)

This is weird because I love the GUI but I have 1 comment on it. Make the sides, left and ride, more 3D. Do you see what I mean? like make it stand out from the black, instead of just a line. It's quite a demand to change a whole GUI, though. However, I liked the site.
