Hi this is my site: Israel Celebrity Source (http://www.israel-celebrity-source.com).

What do you think about the design?
I was thinking on changing the color of the links cuz I think red is too hurtful for the eyes, but I'm not sure how to do it without changing all the pages in my web-site.
Is there a way to do it?

Also when I load the page in firefox the underline is too close to the bottom of the text(in IE there is some vertical space), which makes it a bit difficult to read, is there a way to increase vertical space without changing all the pages?

If you have any other comments/suggestions on the website I would be glad to hear them.

Thanks

It could be better dude, the choice of colours is not that inviting. The girls are beautiful.

The color scheme is actually masculine and attractive to some men and the black and gray colors do not compete with the images. The black background may give some people the impression that this is a porn site and they will see nude photos. Of course, on PowWeb, you cannot have nude photos on the website.

Do you have permission to post these copyrighted images? I do not see copyright info at the bottom of the web page.

<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no">

Include this line to prevent the image toolbar from appearing when mousing over images in Internet Explorer.

The about page has spelling errors and strange line breaks. There is a link to Forum which goes to a page that has a link to the phpBB forum. Why not just change the link for Forum to go to the phpBB forum? The forum itself does not match the color scheme of the website (yet).

Is this a nonprofit fun site? Or do you plan to advertise on it with Google ads, affiliate links or something? The links go to modeling websites and other sites. Still, the site feels quite similar to porn sites. Hmm...

Thanks for the feedback.

First of all, It's not intended to be a porn site or cheap in any way.
It's a nonprofit site, but I may in the future put affilate links to increase traffic.

The forum page is a temporarily solution because I made a design mistake where I included the forum, contact, about in each page of the website and linked it to forum.html .
So I put a link on the forum.html instead of changing every forum link in every page of the website to index.php . But that's something I'll change in the future when I'll have more time, and
I will remove all the contact, forum, about etc. links from all the pages except the main page.

About the choice of colors, I see what you mean when you say it's not inviting but I'm not sure what colors to use. Black and gray were the only colors that I seem to think were acceptable at the time, but maybe I'll change it to light gray and blue to fit the colours of the forum(I know you can change the style of the forum but I'd like to keep it this way).

I didn't think it was INTENDED to be a porn site, but the black background is common for them.

dantol may like to see something more colorful or just not dark black and rainy day gray. But it doesn't compete with the images, so I understand why you used it. Matching it with the forum would be nice.

Maybe the font style or effects for your links could be different to look more professional. White text in a fancier script could look more elegant and less like a porn site. My husband saw me looking at your site and thought I was looking at a porn site. My son liked looking at the girls. ;)

That is understandable. Right now, the red links text is difficult to see on the gray background. Since you are planning to modify your color scheme, you can think about them as well.

Nice site, even better girls, but that's besides the point here, alas....
Yes the red is really awful indeed and even hard to read at times. No, most man will click on a picture of course, but still..... :)

Your site has quite some pages, so start using external CSS as soon as possible. Allows you to change the link color with just one command. Takes a little time to study, even more to install, but it really is what your site desperately needs.

I followed your advices and change the colors to match those of the forum and the colors of the link, so what do you think now on this: http://www.israel-celebrity-source.com/index2.html
I have changed only the index page at the moment.
Do you think it looks better now?

Oh and gardensafari thanks for the tip about the external CSS, I will get into it when I'll have more time.

That's alot of blue, but it looks less like a porn site since the background is not black. It does look much better than the original. :)

I think that the new colour scheme is a big improvement over the first one and it suits the content a lot better. The only other thing that I can say is that the link graphics on the left are a bit too big in my opinion, especially if you were viewing on a PC at a lower res. In fact, I think the page is a bit too wide for people on 800x600 - granted, most of us use a much higher desktop resolution than that, but there's still lots of people that don't... and they would have to scroll the page sidewards to see everything.

Other than that I think it looks a lot better than the first design you posted! :)

edit: actually one other minor thing - when you click the link for the forum, it takes you to another page saying "click here to go to the forum". It's probably best to just make that link actually go directly to the forum itself instead, unless you want to use that page in between to list some forum rules or something for first time visitors. In my opinion though, it's best just to have the link go straight in there.

I have to agree on all points. The new colors are a huge improvement, for the reasons Yvette mentioned. My first impression was that it was some kind of an adult site. Likewise, I think the link graphics would be better at about 1/3 of their current size. That would let you reduce the width of the page to where it does not scroll in 800x600. My analysis of the last few thousand hits on my web tracker show 1024x768 at 4,098 (51.16%) 800x600 at 2,710 (33.83%) and 1280x1024 at 7.9% which suggest that squarely 1/3 of all visitors use 800x600 and may be annoyed by having to scroll sideways.

Keep at it - you're well on your way to a nice site. One thing I wonder about, and I don't know how you would do it differently, is when you introduce the site as a "celebrity pictures" site, which also has a suggestion of an adult site...

I've updated all the pages of my site to fit the new design and removed unnecssarily files, so index2.html no longer exist. I've also used external css style, instead of one for each page.
I hear you both about the 800x600 resoultion problem, and now since only the main page include the forums, contact, about etc. image links it's no problem to reduce their widths, however that would not solve the problem since many of the galleries have in one row more than 5 images which would cause users with 800x600 to scroll sideways anyway. So for now this incovenience will remain I'm afraid until my next update.

Thanks I hope this site will succeed, even though there is much more for me to do, mainly advertising it and increasing traffic.
As for being an adult site, well there are a lot of celebrity websites that are not neccessarily adult sites like http://www.aclasscelebs.com/. It doesn't feature any nude pictures(at least from what I've seen). Of course it's not supposed to be meant for five years old, but teenagers can relate to it as much as adults. Agam Rodberg is a good example for an actress that teenagers here relate to.

I just noticed one other thing - maybe a good idea to change the font? I personally favour verdana, but I think a change to any nice font would be better than the standard one.
