View Full Version : Please critique my website (you can even be harsh)
I would deeply appreciate any feedback any of you can provide on the website I am creating. It's located at:
www.knightline.org
Thanks in advance;

First impression: Very nice page! But then I saw that the page is even longer and it began to scroll...
I personally don't like the scrolling info message (makes me nervous). It's even too wide.
The logo and the title text look brilliant but they are
far to big (56kB together). Don't expect that everyone
has a fast internet access. The four buttons at the end
('BIBLE', 'ROSARY',..) don't fit. Try something else.
I like the colors you've choosen and the navigation bar.
What I would change:
- Resize the 'K of C' and the title text.
- Remove the scrolling message or let it scroll from right to left
- Make the overall font smaller: 10pt
- Make the hole page smaller (width and height).
- Move the navigation bar from the bottom to the top (below the 'K of C' logo

It's a nice page, but I agree about the scrolling on the first page. it shuold be poosible through text size reduction or content editing to reduce the size of the content so that it all fits in a browser window. I goes off the bottom of my 1024 768. reduce the content, create a table that stretches to 100% each way, and have the links sit at the bottom and the welcome text and info sit in the middle. i reckon htis wuold be the most important thing to consider.
Logo came down slowish but steady on my 56k. I reduced your badge from 33k to 14k with no effort and no reduction in quality, although the main text image was at an appropriate compression level (but not very tightly cropped:)).
nice site though. I breezed through a few internal pages and they looked good and worked fine.....

ps - you might want to consider putting the links menu up at the top of on the left, although this is a more personal choice.....
