NOOB! Can't seem to access my site what's going on

NOOB here, please dont bite..

i had a good look around the posts, i know there was
some disruption to the service, but is everything
still down?

my site has been down for about 2 weeks now.

We use powweb DNS, the website resolves but it seems to time out on php load. We use Mambo for php.

Halfabee, what domain are you looking at? Besides, the output you show does not indicate a renewal issue.

Domain wakilisha.com is fine as far as registration goes. And it loads a default page right now, though it is not a format I recognize.

Well, I clicked on the lick and got some stupid page.
The DNS servers are incorrect for that domain.

Something is peculiar, that's for sure. When I look at the registration it shows:

And an nslookup at the PowWeb nameservers shows the correct info. But when I do an nslookup directly, I get:

[Edit] = oh. now I do. The nameserver info was edited today to point to fast-serv.com, which is why we are seeing different results. The service I use for lookups hasn't gotten this change yet.

I would place my $$$ on not being renewed.In which case, the owner of the package needs, as an existing customer, to pay up - paying up should be done by sending an e-mail to billing@powweb.com and ask for the 40off or 7off promotion to save a small amount of $$$. - but this needs to be done whilst the current promotion is still available. It's still reporting 1 day left. I'd also include the last 4 digits of the credit card on record to enable them to adjust things for you.

My guess is that his friendly registrar reregistered for 2 more years and changed the DNS settings ;)
And now it works :)

Typically, if a domain does not renew, it goes into a state "REGISTRAR-HOLD" for 15 days or so. As long as the domain's status is ACTIVE, that means that payment is current. To further bolster that, the expiration date is two years out, not the one that one typically sees when a registrar has taken over a domain for non-payment. That there is a parking page there also indicates to me that the registration is current.

I suppose we have to wait and see if the user lets us know what has really happened.

Thank you guys for your input. After many years of giving our $$$ to powweb, it is time to move on. We made our dues to powweb and our $$$ up to date as customers. The domain does not expire untill 2007 with the domain registrar. The new changes and emails advising that "if you want to cancel the account, go ahead" and "the new changes are here to stay, get your programmer to fix the problem" was enough for us to take our business else where...till next time, Adios.
