No way! How could you tell????? They have a lot of these "outtages". Do you suppose people whose income depends on these servers being up and backed-up should accept excuses?
PowWeb needs redundancy so that their problems would be invisible to us.
funny you should mention that, because thats exactly what we are doing!
The changes we have been making over the past 6 months (actually its been longer than that but) have all been so we could get our network fully meshed and our servers all load balanced. So far we have managed to load balance DNS and HTTP. HTTP being the most critical.

If this is your situation, then I would suggest that an inexpensive shared host service is not appropriate for you.
As far as I can tell from pinging 5 sites, there was another apparently total outage just now (albeit for about two minutes). I'm still confused as to the "100% network reliability claim".

my company offers it to. Its all based on the claims of the software/hardware vendors and the fact that it is served and "Hot Served" or "Sysplexed". But in the end its a computer and will probably NEVER actualy be 100%. I get so beat up over it at work by our customers that I don't have the heart to complain to PowWeb.
Its a computer, its gonna "F" up. that is all!
