Hi there. Due to several reasons, I'd like to remove my username from this fora... Is it possible? I mean, I know that it can be done withnin the vB, but I'm not sure if it' s a valid request.

I'd like my username removed, so that I'd create a new one. As far as I know, all my posts will appear as "Guest" or whatever, and will not be removed unless needed. I don't mind if that's the case.

So, is it a valid request? Can it be done? Who shloud I ask fot that?

Thanks

Er...why don't you just create a new one anyway??

I'm aware that's part of the solution, but still the "old" name would appear in google and that...

Simply speaking: it's a legal thing.

What I ask is pretty simple in vB admin side, though.

If your username is changed in the database, all old posts will reflect your new username, so there's really no reason to create a new user.

I can confirm this is the case as when I signed up a long time ago I made an error in the name displayed and it was altered for me. All posts changed.

We can change your username, then the current one will disappear and you can retain your post count. PM me the name you want to change to.

I'm on another VB forum and last time we allowed name changes, all the user names shown in message quotes stayed the same. Which makes sense. So they'd be able to link you to your old name if they tried, if you've ever been quoted. I'm pretty sure "Thread Starter" on the forum pages stayed the same as well. But VB might have fixed that by now.

Actually, all the old post are changed to show the new name. I had my name changed recently and posts I made a year ago show my new name.

With proper writing, we all know who you are though ;)
