You have some very beautiful photos and using Gallery as a way to display them is a good idea.

However, I find the black is too harsh in contrast to your photos and after viewing an album my eyes were feeling the strain of that contrast. A softer color would highlight your photos better and tend to keep visitors longer. Your photos do not reflect a "black emotion", so why should the background do so.

You could also customize your Gallery script so that it looked unique and different than all the other Gallery installs on the net. It's not that hard to customize Gallery to make it look much different, all it takes it editing the HTML Wrap files using standard HTML coding.

I agree with JJ's comments. Is this a portfolio or a personal website. There should be copyright info at the bottom of each page. Why is there a search and a login? The contact page has a form to request info, but no info to contact you aside from the email address. I don't even know your name, let alone where you are from (when looking at the website).

The website feels like it needs a home page with a brief site purpose described on it and the links to the about us, portfolio (gallery), contact us, links or other pages. If this is a personal website, then you do not need to mention services or prices. If this is a commercial site, then you would want to offer your contact information.

The pictures are beautiful and JJ and I love to look at photos, so we get excited to see those websites posted here! ;)

Jack, Yvette

Thanks very much to taking the time and comment on my site. I really appreciate it. You guys have made some very helpful suggestions which I'll try to implement.

I'm trying to break into the stock photo business so I'll be using the site as a portfolio. I'm working on a bio page but it's taking some time since I really suck at writing. :)

Thanks again...

Just as a side note here:

Gallery has released a newer version of Gallery that addresses some security issues found in the version you are now using. They (Gallery) recommends that everyone upgrade to the newer v1.4.4-pl6 version.

You will want to exchange links with people like me who share a similar target audience. As far as writing goes, just write down what you would say to us if we asked you who you are, how long you have been taking photos, why you are in photography, etc.. You can look at other photography sites for ideas. And use a spell checker to appear more professional. ;)

Thanks again guys. I really appreciate it.

Jack,

I'll have to a manual upgrade from 1.4.4 to 1.6.6 because I don't want to loose my customizations.

Yvette,
I'll follow you advice and keep the bio simple.

Yes, you'd have to do a manual upgrade but it's not that hard to do as long as you renamed your css file and html wrapper files when you done your customization.

Nice images man. I agree about the need for a Home & About page though.
In your About page you could write about yourself, your equipment, your location, etc.
As also mentioned, don't forget the copyright notice either. A nice start man. Have fun with it!
