Hello, a client of mine sent me a DVD. He wants me to edit some footage and send it back on DVD. He wants to footage in High-Quality DVD format. My question is, what do I need to take the footage from the DVD and import to desktop. Edit it, then re-burn the edited footage onto DVD...

I've been doing this but usually the clients send a wmv,mpg files in VERY high format and I electronically resend it back in HIGH footage... I've never really did the DVD thing...

I'm not exactly sure how you would go about reburning it but I'm pretty sure most DVD players can read AVI. Just an FYI - while editing, if you have the space and processor to handle it, uncompressed AVI will reatain the best quality. Of course, I have been toying with the DivX AVI codecs lately and am rather impressed. A full length move (93minutes) was 12gb uncompressed AVI and it still looks decent on a 700mb CD.
