Hey Guys,

This is a site that i am setting up, basically what you are going to see is going to be the main layout for the rest of the site. Content is not done yet, and the link don;t work.

Like i said before, just the layout.

Any comments are welcome.

First of all, good choice in going with PHP :) Overall, the design looks clean, except for the header section and the footer section. They don't seem to line up with the body part. of course, it could be just my 15" monitor at 800x600 (someday I'll get a bigger one :))

Also, it doesn't fit on my monitor. There's a bit of scrolling to the right.

Didn't dive into the code though :)

Thanks for your comments, they are greatly appreciated. I am at this moment in time trying to fix the header and footer so that they line up correctly with the main section. It's really just trial and error from here.

I don't think that i can make the actual layout any smaller, unless i want to screw everything up.

Is there a lot of scrolling to be done, or just a bit?

Also, considoring that i had not even heard about php untill a week ago, i think that i have done quite well. (thats down to the great help that i have recieved from people like yourself in the php/mysql forum)

Hopefully, when the site is launced it will be a success, I need it to look as good as possible. So if you have any suggestions then please let me know.

I would agree, I think it looks pretty good. You should try to make sure there's no horizontal scrolling when in 800x600 resolution, however. On my screen it cuts off the entire word "Week" and past that on the right side. As for alignment in the footer I would say it's not a problem, unless you're going for perfection :)

I think I have no fixed the size of the site so that it is viewable in both 800x600 and 1024x768.

If you have any other suggestions please feel free to put them forward (even post them on the forum if you like... hehe).

I am having trouble finding a place to put the banners. If you could think of somehwhere, that would also be a lot oh help.

That was a big improvment!

I see your prediciment regarding banners... there's no good place to put them right now. I would either shorten the Flash logo at the top and put them at the top right corner, or put them right underneath "OurTechWorld.com". You'll probably want to do some experimentation to see what looks best.

I like the look. The header is lining up properly on my monitor, but the footer is too narrow and doesn't quite make it.

I like the animation in the header, but I think that having it display once or twice would be enough. I'm concerned that it will be too distracting once you have more content on your page.

Overall, it's a great start.

Gail:: Thanks for the comments, I know that the footer is a bit offline at the moment, and I am currently going to be investigating into that.

The headers animation... i can see where you are coming from. But i think i am going to keep it where it is as it brings a "techno" feel to the site, and that is something that i wish to keep.
