i tried to use my domain's mail server to check my email using Outlook (XP), and i have this error message returned to me

!Task 'mail.earthlinktech.com.au - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0D): 'Unable to find the e-mail server. Please verify the server information in you account properties.'

but when i use the same user setting with powweb's mail server 'mail.powweb.com', it works just fine, also i have checked the webmail 'http://mail.earthlinktech.com.au' , it works fine too.

and now i found another problem, i can only check my mail from powweb mail server, i can't send any, eventhough i've turned on the SMTP authentication to use my same setting for checking mail. the error message is

"his is the Postfix program at host mail.powweb.com.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned

did i miss configured something in Outlook?

Please help.

thanks

Change the SMTP port # for your email client from 25 to 24.

FYI: many ISP's, in an attempt to gain more control over their users, block sendmail’s default port of 25. Powweb has developed a small work around by enabling port forwarding on port 24 for these users.
