View Full Version : Norton Ghost on Windows 2003 Server
Hi,
I may have asked this before, but my brain is fried again. So the question....
Will Norton Ghost V9 work on Windows 2003 Server which also is running Exchange Server 2003. If not, then what version will?
Thanks so very much from my befuddled brain
Do you mean will it create an image of a 2003 machine, or will it run as a ghostcast server on 2003? Either way I dont see any reason why it wouldnt. Ghost 8 doesnt have a problem with either one.
Appreciate your answer. I've never used Ghost and have a reason to do so now. Looking at creating a backup image of the system, which also has Exchange Server running. Specs on Ghost 9 say it will work on Win2k and WinXP but not on servers. According to Symantec, the LiveState 3 product is meant for servers. I've heard that Ghost will work, so looking for anyone who has done so.

I tried to install Ghost v9 on a Windows 2003 box. I received a message saying that 'Ghost wouldn't run on this operating system'
While Ghost would have been great for imaging, but we've been able to get BackupExec to run and do the entire system. Best part, we can now do the Exchange server too.
Has someone been able to boot from cd and then create an image of their Win2003?
