I'm in the process of launching a site to match webmasters looking to sell ad space on their site with webmasters looking to buy ad space and vice versa.

http://www.dabrowskigroup.com

Whereas link exchanges are typically automated systems (or somewhat automated) that are designed to increase link relevancy and, thus, search engine ranking or page rank, this site is designed to give someone who has a certain amount of money to spend on advertising a place to find someone who is willing to sell some space for that price. Likewise, webmasters who have sites with virtually any consistent amount of traffic can offer their site (or search for those looking to advertise).

As with any database-driven site, it needs records. It is just barely at the point where it can receive submissions and registrations, but I need a few kind souls who are interested in the goal of the site to register and post their sites so that I have something to work with.

Since it is such a bare-bones site (and since I'm so new to this stuff), I thought this would be the best place to post it. Any comments are welcome, but since I didn't post this in the Review forum, I'd rather discuss this from the advertising viewpoint. Also, keep in mind that there are about a zillion features that I'm planning on adding, but I'm trying to find a happy medium between a full-blown launch that would require a pretty robust site and a beta / database-building mini-release until the features are decked out and it has sufficient records to be considered a useful resource.

I'm counting on the spirit of the community to give me a hand here, so if you think you could sign up and help out, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you all for your time and consideration (and also for the immense amount of help I've received already on this site),

I registered. Two suggestions if I may:

1. Explain that people ahve a choice to choose buying or selling ad space after they register.

2. Add a travel category

I added the travel category. About the first point, do you mean make it more clear, before they register, that they can set each site to be listed as "looking to buy" or "looking to sell" once they've actually registered and submitted their sites? Basically, don't let prospective registrants think that they can only trade space?

That's what I mean. Like when I go to cj.com the advertisers go to one place and the affiliates go to another. Same thing with Adwords/Adsense, etc. I just expect differnt information pages for each.I added the travel category. Make it more obvious where people have to sign-up.

The process needs to be better explained in the website.

Anyway, I signed with my new website - www.websiteagent.info

Thanks NMS. Again, I'll see what I can do. I realize that it needs to be explained better, because a lot of people don't seem to understand, but I haven't quite figured out how to better word it. I'll work on it. Thanks again.

- Try and make pictures with the steps involved.
- Try and make an FAQ & a help site

You could also just use a forum like this to store sites. I think it's more flexible because you could make a forum into a category. In addition, a forum is more flexible, and you don't need to do any coding. Just my $0.02.

This project has gone a *wee bit* by the wayside, but otherwise, I don't see a forum structure being more efficient for a directory listing. And I'd prefer to add features as I go. (Categories is definitely one of them.)

Thanks for the tips, everyone.
