Burning music to cds

I would like to burn analog and digital music to cds. I am confused as to all of the formats of sound files. What I am looking for is a site that will clarify what exactly I need as far as software and hardware to accomplish what I would like to do. And also guidance. I know if I was a teenager I would know all of the ins and outs of this technology. Thanks

Do you mean that you want to back those files up or do you mean you want to be able burn them to CD, then drop the CD into a regular CD player and play them? I suspect you mean the latter.

If so, you will need a burner, almost any burner will work for what you want to do. Software wise, take a look at http://www.cdburnerxp.se/download.php It has a cool system by which you can build audio cd's from virually any audio file type you might have on your computer. It does the conversion for you and helps you set up the CD song order as well as telling you how much room you have left.
