SubDomain & URL

Hey guys
If I create a subdomain and point a URL to it. when folks visit the site will they see the subdomain name or the new URL?

also:
Is there a way to get emails names that match the subdomain url?

the address bar keeps the subdomain name.

no email for subdomains.

Or if you want to, you can also have the directed to address in the address bar:

forum.yoursite.com -> www.yoursite.com/forum/index.php
