Hi,
If anyone is interested in food plots/deer hunting or the like, would you please take a look at my online store and let me know what you think.
http://www.michiganwildlifemanagement.com (http://www.michiganwildlifemanagement.com)
This is the first website I have ever built, I had to use microsoft publisher :( . I now have access to microsoft front page, and I was just wondering if I should consider redoing the website in microsoft frong page?
Just a little info about us: We install food plots, sell wildlife seeds/attractants/supplements as well as aggrene natural liquid fertilizer (good for the environment and safe for you to apply) If you are interested, please check us out!
Thanks,
Jenny

I think in general the layout looks quite good and it's a nice and clean design, but there are a few things I would change, and also a couple of problems:
1. It seems to REALLY slow down my browser if I am using Firefox - I tried it in IE and it was ok, but Firefox really doesn't like it... I'm not sure why though.
2. Personally I think the header is a bit too big... if you view the page in 800x600 you end up having to scroll horizontally. Although most of us run much higher resolutions these days, I'd still change it because you will get visitors who do run 800x600 :)
3. The buttons on the side bar have different size fonts... it would look a lot more professional to make sure they are all the same, as they are it looks a little bit weird.
4. The bottom of the page doesn't quite look right; at the bottom it just ends suddenly and then there's a big white gap, you should probably change that. Personally I'd either get rid of the extra white space, or put some kind of footer in there... up to you :)
That's about it, as I say otherwise it looks good to me. One thing is for sure: it's about a hundred times better than the first website I ever came out with! :D
Hope that helps and good luck with the site!
Kaz
Overall, the site looks good in IE, but . .
My husband built his site with Publisher and is encountering problems. We started at the same time building our sites, his with Publisher, mine in HTML (with me learning from scratch). His was ready to "go live" about 2 weeks ahead of mine, but that's not the whole story. Mine has been easy to fix; his much more problematic. Mine works in every browser and screen resolution I've been able to test. Some of his links don't work in Netscape. Mine validates; his doesn't. I've been able to fix some security issues that he can't.
The big problem with his site is that he now has to learn HTML, even though he never planned to, in order to fix all of the problems with the code that Publisher generated.
I can't tell you about switching to Front Page. I think you will have fewer problems, but I don't think that will fix everything. If you're not willing to learn HTML, I would suggest you go to the Microsoft forums for Publisher and Front Page. I think you'll find some good advice there, especially about the switch between the two, as I saw some threads over my husband's shoulder.

On the other hand, HTML turned out to be easier than I expected, and there's a lot of good help here and many other places on the web. Your site is not all that complicated visually, and I think you'd be able to come up with a comparable visual feel without all that much effort.
Hope this helps,
